You must pay $65.00 if you did not take the premarital education. If you did take the premarital education courses you pay $30.00 for your marriage license. Blood tests are no longer required in the state of Georgia. If you are 16 or 17 years old, you may apply if accompanied by both parents who have given written consent. If the bride is pregnant, no parental consent is required if you submit a statement from a licensed physician certifying that the bride is pregnant. Their are common law marriages. Any minister who is authorized by his or her church may perform marriages. The ministers must completer the marriage certificate and return it to the ordinary with in 30 days of the marriage.
